Arundel Books was founded in 1984 as a fine press publisher specializing in art and poetry; three years later, we began selling rare and out-of print books.
The company and its affiliates have grown over the past two decades, and now operate two retail bookstores (in Seattle and Los Angeles), two internet bookstores, and a small publishing company complete with hand-operated presses and in-house papermaking.
Each of our four stores have an independent mindset, and a select, diverse stock that is constantly changing and growing. Our goal is to reflect and enhance the communities in which we live and work.
Los Angeles:
Our Los Angeles store specializes in art, photography, architecture, design, and literature, and is located at 8380 Beverly Blvd. in the heart of the city's furniture and design center.
We think it is one of the most beautiful stores of its type. The Los Angeles Times said that it is what Noel Coward's library might have looked like.
We think Noel would have approved.
Seattle:
Our stunning Seattle store is located at 1001 1st Ave (at the corner of 1st & Madison), occupying the corner of the landmark Alexis Hotel and has an eclectic stock that will satisfy both the avid reader and discriminating collector.
We are right in the heart of the tourist and business district, and have a clients as diverse as our stock.
From new bestsellers to used and rare, our goal is to pique your interest.

In addition to the books displayed on the shelves of our two retail stores (which you can also see on this website), we have well over 100,000 books available for sale from our internet bookstores (on beautiful Vashon Island and in Seattle's Greenwood district).
